PETROCHEMICAL ODOR UPDATE

All resident complaints sent to the Village were presented to Assemblyman Ed Flood in a meeting last week. His office had already begun researching the issue and will be pursuing it further along with our Village Officials. Our next steps are to present the issue in an in-person meeting with the DEC later this month. In the meantime, please continue to monitor and report to Village Hall using the drop down form below.

SCWA Announces New Policies Aimed to Ensure Water Conservation

Home addresses with an odd number, water on odd days, Home addresses with an even number, water on even days. No one is to water between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Additionally, The Authority’s Water Wise Account Credit Program will allow the customer to now earn an account credit of up to two hundred and fifty dollars per account for a duration of three years, simply by purchasing water conserving devices, and utilizing them in the home.

VILLAGE ELECTION

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the Incorporated Village of Poquott will hold general elections on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 for the following positions: Two (2) Village Board Trustees for a term of two (2) years Nominees: Jeremy Flint, Jim Ma and Encumbant, John Musiello, Jr. One (1) Village Justice for a term of four (4) years. Nominees: Encumbant, Paul Edelson and Darlene Mercieca. Election will take place at Village Hall, 45 Birchwood Avenue, Poquott from 12pm-9pm

BENCH SPONSORSHIP

The Poquott Community Association is gauging interest in a Bench Sponsorship Program this fall. Benches will have an etched plaque naming the family (or honoring a family member, etc). Bench sponsorship is $1200 (tax deductible and all earnings go back to the Poquott Community) and up to 2 families can sponsor one bench (2 plaques). See benches in person at Walnut and California. Please e-mail cronindac@gmail.com to reserve your bench and preferred location.

UPCOMING BOARD MEETING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on August 24, 2023, at 1:00Pm the Board of Trustees of the Village of Poquott will hold a special meeting of the Board of Trustees at Village Hall, 45 Birchwood Avenue, Poquott, NY 11733 and virtually by GoTo Meeting. The purpose of the Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees will be to discuss Code Vehicle Repairs.
